Decaling

 

After painting the next step is the application of the appropriate lettering and numbering.  As with my other Espee projects I used San Juan Decal’s fine set of Southern Pacific decals.  I used the “lettering grey” set as I’m modeling the period of the early 50’s.  In this period the tender was stenciled with “Southern Pacific” in the large 20 inch high lettering.

After decaling I sprayed everything with a couple of light coats of Testor’s dullcoat.
